Anyone here on PSN? My ID is Rineya if you wanted to add me. =D
I don't have any real multiplayer games at the moment (they're all single player, one with local-only multiplayer) but I'll probably be participating in the Uncharted 2 multiplayer (co-op, not competitive) when the game comes out. (:
Until then we can...compare trophies? xD

D: lucky I always wanted a PS3 but the price has always been a little to much for me to handle :x. Hopefully i can get one now that the price has gone down to only 300
Ah I know its rather rare to find a ps3 that still has the backward compatibility it is a bit of a let down but still I really would like a PS3 even if i have to keep out the ps3 and ps2 at the same time ~.~

FYI - the new $299 PS3 is the slim version, which doesn't have backwards compatibility (aka you can't play PS1 or PS2 games on it).
Edit: I thought about getting the PS3 at the new price, but no PS2/PS1 compatibility made me change my mind.

I bought the first 60gig model when it first came out, since I was planning on getting rid of my PS2, however I still own both because I didn't have the heart to get rid of my old PS2 - that and I'd get no money for it anyway. The PS2 is pretty much on DVD Player duty, but my roommate uses it because she sold her PS2 a few years back.
Where I am going with this, is that PS2s, even the slim ones, are dirt cheap these days. New that is, and even cheaper used. Cheaper than a PS3 game at least. So if you want some of the next gen games, but are thinking about picking up some old gen games too, just get both a PS3 and PS2 if you don't own either.
A few of the big name PS1 games are out/coming out on the Playstation Network now too, and even more are probably planned for release, since the system has now completely lost it's backwards compatability and the games are becoming increasingly more difficult to track down / have been rising dramatically in price.
The tl;dr version: PS2s are dirt cheap and play 100% of PS1 and PS2 games. Also, the PSN has some of the more popular, older games.
